Mr. Peters is beginning his fifth year teaching Science and and will be teaching Early American History at Reek Elementary. He has a Bachelor's of Science in Social Studies and Environmental Science Licensure from UW-Whitewater.
Mr. Peters has planned and implemented Reek's Outdoor Education Program, where students learn and explore their natural ecosystems. Students also get a chance to learn skills, boating, orienteering, tracking, cooking, pioneering, and fire building. In addition to environmental education, Mr. Peters implements the Project Lead the Way curriculum focused on STEM activities.
Mr. Peters is looking forward to implementing technological resources to help students collect data and utilize it for independant learning opportunities. He believes strongly in the ability of students to be able to explain their inidependant thoughts and ideas through written work. Mr. Peters also feels strongly about the ability to learn from past events to improve the future of the students and the community. He often takes advantage of cross-curricular opportunities in the classroom to help children better understand the purpose of a well rounded education.
Mr. Peters has worked in education since 2011. Before that, he was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 2000-2011. He has been a wrestling coach for seven years, and enjoys exercising, baseball, and cooking in his spare time.
